An Easter Egg Hunt

Hello everyone! It's EASTER in cornwood at the moment, and what better way to celebrate then an Easter egg hunt with Emily Hamilton and her friends?

The nursery Easter egg hunt

It all started two days before Easter. The cornwood committee where having a meeting about what they should do to celebrate for the nursery children. The adults and teenagers already had an idea of what to do, but the nursery children had nothing.

The committee included:
Troy Dante (mayor), Elma mulberry (also known as Edward) and hornbull Fresian as vice, Daisy Fresian as head cleaner, Rolf billabong as head of transport, William periwinkle as construction and signs, dale seadog as the policeman, Zoe Dante who was in charge of clothing, Maise Hamilton, in charge of child welfare, and last of all, Oliver periwinkle, who was in charge of education.

The committee where holding a meeting on what to do for the nursery children in Maisie's house, and ideas where being thrown around, until a good one was shouted and everyone agreed on it.
" what about a little festival for them?" Suggested Daisy Fresian.
"That's a marvellous idea, but sadly we don't have enough time." Sighed Troy.
" I know!" Giggled Masie, who had been sat in the corner quietly the whole time, drenched in thought.
" an Easter egg hunt!"
The mayor spoke before anyone else could open their mouths.
" that is completely excellent! I love that!" All of the committee started nodding heads and agreeing.
" we could hold it in the lower cornwood park, and the children would enjoy it every so much!"
" I agree! tommorrow, can William and hornbull, and you, Masie, wrap up some chocolate eggs? Then, the next morning, the day of Easter, can you hide the eggs in lower cornwood park, so the children could start in the afternoon? "
" of course!" Hornbull, William, and Masie cheered. They where ever so delighted at the idea, and eager to start.
That evening, after the committee had all parted to go home for tea, Masie sat down for soup with her family, with a very tired Emily Hamilton in her arms. Masie started telling Peppa, Ham, and Spice the news, and Emily's ears perked up when Masie mentioned the words ' Easter eggs' before they all went to bed.
The next morning, William brought on some chocolate eggs his wife had made, and they looked so tasty! Hornbull had gotten the foil, and Masie brought her own hands. They say outside the school house, basking in the hot weather.
" time for work, then!" Hornbull chuckled, and they began wrapping each egg up with foil.
Soon, every egg was wrapped, and Masie took it home. The next day, Rolf would pick it up in the  car, and hornbull, William, and Masie would hide them, before the babies came with their baskets and parents in the afternoon.
The next morning, the pile of eggs started to decrease as they where hidden by master hiders.
" I remeber being the master of hide and seek when I was little! " Masie called as she hid one beneath the stage. " I was always the last to be found, and it always took awhile. Hamsters are masters at soundless feet!"
" I was always the first." Replied William.
" why?" Hornbull asked, while bending over to put an egg in a flowerpot.
"Guess!" William chuckled, pointing to his ears, and they all laughed.
Soon, every single egg was hidden, and soon afterwards, the babies started to arrive with their parents, and some had massive baskets. Masie saw Emily with Peppa, and Emily grinned with her massive basket, which was almost as big as her.
Masie grinned, before announcing the start of the hunt in front of the crowd.
"The Easter egg hunt is officially open! "
The Easter egg hunt was a huge success! The parents chatted idly, while the babies hunted.
"You have really outdone yourself, Masie. This is brilliant!" May mulberry smiled. Daisy agreed. " the children seem to love it!"
May giggled. " look at Elma, trying to manage our six cuties! "
"He's already lost two of them, best I head off and help!"

And with that, may mulberry was hunting for two children, not Easter eggs.
" what a marvellous idea! I must thank you and hornbull for helping Masie with this project, the kids love it!"
" thankyou, mr mayor, I hope the Easter ball tommorrow night is just as successful, as well as the Easter prom."
" me too, well, I best go find hornbull to congratulate him!"
Hornbull was with his children, who where laughing and gurgling over their third find under the ladder.

After the whole event, the mayor made a speech congratulating the crew. Every single baby got another egg, which made sure every baby left happy, and teething over their finds.

I hope everyone enjoyed this little post, and, as you can probably see, the committee is quite big, and there where more I wanted to add, but it came to a massive narrowing down of important roles.

Anyway, I knew it started of a bit wordy and slightly complicated, but, nevertheless, I hope it was a good read.

HAPPY EASTER!

Going to the beach

Hi everyone! Today I headed down to Lyme Regis, a beach in Dorset, England. I took the Fresian family with me (who have been before, and the Dante cats have come before, too.) and this is basically what they got up to!

They arrived at the beach early in the morning and Daisy and hornbull laid the cloth out.
They sat down and had a hearty picnic of biscuits and healthy fruit muffins along with some sparkling water.
After lunch, pixie and paddock climbed the rocks.
"Come on pixie! " paddock called.
"It's harder then it looks! Mother just repaired this dress from the last incident we had in cornwood!"
Annabel, Jack Jack and Felix had a rock competition. Whoever had the largest rock won. Felix squealed in triumph "I WIN! "
While the children had activities, hornbull and Daisy had a nice tea as they chatted about how the kids where so adventurous, and work, along with the cornwood committee.
After the kids returned, the boys played a game of football, and the girls chatted about what they got up to, along with the talk about Camelia periwinkles new range for summer.

I hope you enjoyed this post, even though it's only small. I really enjoyed the visit to the beach, as did the Fresians!

Trying something new

Hey everyone! First off, I want to say that my amazing friend Kyra nominated me for the Leibster awards, which is a contest for small blogs and to promote them. I was so going to do it, but I have been extremely busy, because I have been taking part in a performance of Les miserables, and the performance week was last week, and I didn't have any time in the evening to do anything, so I apologise for that.
So, before I start this little blog post, I just want you to check out Kyras blog, which is especially good if you love to get into little DIY projects. So, here's the link http://aeternumsomnium.blogspot.co.uk/
Please, please check her out, she's awesome!

So, what is this post about? It's getting very warm in sylvania, and the dress shop needs some summer clothing to stock for the sylvanians to wear, and, god bless, they don't have any! So, I thought that I would give them a try! I pit may be abit complicated, so I have put the finished product at the top, so you can always refer to that, but it is very hard to put this into words, so leave any questions in the comments and I will answer as fast as I can!

Note: this is a dress for a mother.

Let's start by making a sort of base for the dress.
I have lots if white pillow cases at home, so I will use that as the base. Here is a template which you can print off and cut out or measure out and use, which ever way is best for you. (Personally, I would copy it and put it onto a word document and print it out and cut it, as It is quite hard to copy)

Please note that sylvanians come in all shapes and sizes, so you may need to shorten the dress or make alterations to it, but the instructions are still the same with whatever size you choose.

Also, the first time I did the templates, I forgot to save the draft, so that's why the templates are already cut out.

This is the body of the dress. The whole template is actually the shirt and skirt combined.

Once you have done that, you need to cut out the templates for the sleeve

Now, we can put the dress onto fabric.
Once you have cut out the body of the dress, affix it and make it the right size for a mother sylvanian. I have used Kate periwinkle . Then, sew up the side and turn the dress inside out. Cut off any extra pieces of fabric if there is some.
Once you have done that, you can add any additional stitches. I decided to go with a blanket stich to make a hem, so that the dress doesn't fall apart overtime and fray.
Now, we can do the sleeves!

Wrap the sleeve around the arm and pin it so it looks like this.
Fix some stitches to it, and then do the same for the other side.
VoilĂ ! You have done the base of the dress! Now, depending on the look you want to get you can stop here and keep the base as it is. But, if you want to add some fabric, read on!
To add some fabric, all you need to do is use the base template and apply it to some patterned fabric. Then, sew the fabric to the collar of the base layer. There!

VOILA!

I hoped you enjoyed that tutorial, and you didn't find it to complicated! I really enjoyed making the dress, and I'm sorry if you found it either really basic or hard to follow. Leave any questions in the comments and I will answer ASAP. Anyway, again, sorry for the time gap, I was actually planning a post and then it disappeared!

Lots of hugs and kisses! Emily xxxx
