The Waddlingtons

Hey everyone! It's time for the first story in new cornwood. Did you guess that I purchased the waddlington duck family? They were a steal of eBay for only £18, since they have been discontinued, that's a major deal! Normally, they value up to £80, and that's just figures. Houses can value for £100's, depending on when they were realesed and then discontinued.
Well, I got the waddlington family, so I thought a story was due.

It was a warm, muggy day in cornwood. Maise Hamilton was watching the Tv while making Emily some Oatmeal.
"The Weather today across Sylvania is as shown: Big cities such as Nutwood and Pinewood will be experiencing thundery storms, and this area around here is taking the backhand of this storm, as it will be very humid, aswell as windy, and very cloudy with a rain shower later this afternoon as the storm makes it's way across this part of Sylvania"  the local news station said, the anchor pointing to Nutwood and vaguely Cornwood. " and in other news, the previous Mayor of Nutwood has disappeared! You heard right. After his loss of the election in 2014, Mayor Bill Waddlington and his wife, Wanda Waddlington, went missing last night with their three infant children. Their two daughters, Wendy Waddlington and Winnifred Waddlington, and there son, Billy Waddlington. "
"Well that's just awful, " Maise muttered over the stove. The milk was heating up now. Emily was gurgling in her high chair.
"The police say they have no idea where they have gone, but have ruled out the possibility of a kidnapping after they gave notice to their landlord that they were leaving their one bedroom apartment last month, after last year being evicted from their Mayoral Mansion.  Now we will go to the Landlord, who is in central Nutwood-"
"MUM CAN I WATCH PONY ADVENTURES?" Peppa shouted down the stairs.

"No! I'm watching the news! And don't you have school?"
"No! It's Summer!!!"
"Go to Charlotte's house, or Cherry's . Or Pixie's or Camelia's!"
"Okay! " Peppa rushed down the stairs, her backpack already hanging loosely onto her back.
"You have toothpaste on your dress!" Maisie exclaimed.
"Don't care!" And with that, Peppa was gone.
"She planned that, she never watches pony adventures !"
"Goop" Emily replied.
"Well, The house is empty, Emily! Just us, Hams at work, Spice is at football and Peppa is god knows where. Shall we go out for a walk?"
"Goog" Emily giggled , as she dribbled over her oatmeal.

Maisie secured Emily in her pram . She donned her hat and locked the door. The car rental place was across from her , and she could see that the green Morris Minor was missing. Perhaps the Periwinkles went out for the day or maybe the Mulberry's? Or the Dante's? Possibly the Dante's, to go discuss the loss of the previous mayor Bill Waddlington.
She went to go find Rolf Billabong, who owned the car rental service, buthe was nowhere to be seen. This was all starting to become very suspicious. Masie went and knocked on his door, but there was no answer.
She decided that he was out, so she went to see if Matilda, his wife, was at work at the dress shop. Matilda had designed and made Maisie's dress. She had made most of Cornwood's clothes. She was now retired but still goes there every day to train Camelia in the holidays to be the next big thing. With Matilda's help, Camelia had already brought out two lines of clothing, and had even made it to Nutwood Department, a very big department store based in Nutwood.
"Hello Matilda! I've just come in to look, oh , hello Zoe! I didn't see you there!" Maisie giggled.
"Hello Maisie, nice to see you! Have you looked at our latest line? Very nice, very trendy!" Zoe said.
"I'm good, thankyou! I love the dress Matilda has made me." Maisie laughed. Matilda blushed. She was a shy but very nice koala.
"Matilda, " Maisie said, pretending to look at some dresses which she wasn't interested in. The dress shop was at the stage where Camelia wasn't trained and Matilda was retired, so there were just large chain store dresses. Maisie liked something handmade and original. " I got out of the house this morning to see the green Morris Minor wasn't there! And I can't find Rolf. Zoe , has he taken Troy to Nutwood?"
"Oh no, troys here. Why would he go to Nutwood?"
"Because the previous mayor Bill Waddlington has gone missing! " Matilda exclaimed .
"Oh yes, that. Well, that's not really our problem, since he isn't a mayor anymore-"
"Rolf went Late last night for something... But I can't remeber why?" Matilda recalled.
"I'm so forgetful."
"Hmm, well, I have to buy some oranges, so I'm going off to the grocery shop to visit Zafrina, I'll see you tonight at moonfest " and with that, Maisie was gone. Moonfest was an annual one night a year event, where the park would be lit up by beautiful lights, and the babies and older children would all play on the slides and all, while the adults would sip tea and the shops were open late.
Just before moonfest started, ham and Maisie were sitting out on the balcony, looking at the looming dark cloud, when they heard a ruckus .

The Morris minor was returning! It Parked around the corner to ham and Maisie's suspicion, With some new passengers...
"Come on mum lets go!! Peppa and Spice joined in. "MOOOOOOOONFEST!!!" Maisie and Ham were literally dragged out the house, and settled Emily in her pram, before they could find out what was going on.

Mayor Dante started moonfest off, before it would rain.
"Welcome, villagers of cornwood, to Moonfest! Now, in celebration of this, the village has been gifted a hook a duck stall for you all to play all year round. I hope you enjoy it, and happy Moonfest!"
Moonfest was in full swing, with everyone playing and enjoying what the village centre had to offer. Maisie couldn't shake off the feeling something was going to happen. And it did. The rain and wind.
"Oh! "The whole of the village said, in true disgust. They went on with moonfest anyways, the lights looked beautiful against the rain, anyways.

And then, the lights went out!
"WHYYYYYY! Everything that could go wrong has!" Cherry Periwinkle moaned, donning a yellow coat which she retrieved during the rain.

"Sorry!! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to trip!"
The whole village looked to the barge, where Wanda Waddlington, Bill Waddlington, Wendy, Winnifred and billy Waddlington were stood.
"I knew it." Maisie whispered to Ham and May Mulberry.

"Wanda!!!" Zoe Dante breathed, rushed over, and they embraced eachother.
"Bill! " said Troy
"Troy!" Said Bill.
"QUACK!" Said the Waddlington children to the Dante children.

"Can someone tell us what's going on?" Said pixie Fresian, who was next to Peter Periwinkle.
"I don't know," Peter whispered .

"Yeah, what is going on?" Zafrina marched out of her shop, her hands on her hips, because all the commotion sent One of the Fresian babies out of the shop! knocking over some milk.
" now now, Zafrina, no need to cry over spilt milk." Hornbull laughed, and Zafrina tried to hold back a smile. A
"Now that's two surprises in one night!" said Kate periwinkle "the previous mayor of Nutwood on our doorstep, and Hornbull is laughing!"
This sent the village into fits of laughter.
"Settle down, settle down. I'll tell the story." Zoe Dante said under an umbrella.
The citizens of cornwood all listened intently.

"Last month, Wanda contacted me. I've seen her many times over the years, over at mayoral matters and have been to the Nutwood Mansion, and we are Infact best friends. She said last month that she was fed up with her living arrangements, And all the attention they where always getting. So I said, come to cornwood, we can build a house in a matter of days! So that's what we did. Without Bill and troy knowing, we set it all up. The building of a house, the travel with Rolf, and everything. We only told both our husbands three days ago."
"Much to both of theirs delight that they were both seeing old friends" Wanda chipped in.
" we only did it when we knew a storm was coming though, to make sure it was the perfect cover, which it was. "
"Why didnt you tell anyone? And why did you say previous mayors aren't your buisness to me today? " Maisie asked.
"I lied, and up we couldn't, else cornwood would become a publicity centre, which it is not."
Moonfest was back In full swing.

"Um, actually, do you have a Camelia Periwinkle here?" Wanda asked Zoe.
"Ahh, yes!" Zoe called over Camelia.
"Is that?" Camelia asked, looking at Wanda's dress.
"Yes.. I Think it is your dress, one you designed, I got it at antlers, the biggest department store In Nutwood, and it says here in the label it's your work.. It's very lovely!"
"It's actually Matilda's work.., she's been helping me!!"
"How lovely, I want to meet her!"

---

That night, ham and Maisie were In bed.
"What a day.. I knew it when I heard it. " Maisie breathed.
"I belived you, I think most thought you were lying though.."
"Haha, I have never lied!"
"Yes you have!"
"When!"
"When you said we where all part of a toy called Sylvanian families And we are sold in mass production by flair and we come in sets, and we are sold in big department stores and toy shops and everything and we were a Christmas present from two years ago and we are on a blog called Emily's sylvanian families... It's all a lie. "
" yeah.. I guess I have. I saw that in a dream once.. Atleast, I thought it was a dream..."
"It was"
"Your right, as always," Maisie smiled.

The end.

I hope you enjoyed that fun BIG story, and the end got deep very very quickly.

Lots of love, Emily xxxx

DIY GIRL FIGURE DRESS

I'm back as promised! And in this post, I'm going to show you how to make a dress for a teenage rabbit (model: Cherry Periwinkle)

GIRL SUMMER DRESS
this is what you will need:
Sewing Machine, Fabric Scissors (scissors that only cut fabric, don't cut paper with them else they will go blunt) Pins, Teenage / Sister figure ( I've chose Cherry Periwinkle, Sister buttermilk Rabbit) , Some nice fabric, and two templates.
templates:
This dress has two basic templates:
The Skirt has extra allowance for folding, so the fabric doesn't fray. It's also in this curved shape so the dress sticks out, and adding pleats would give it extra oomph.
The top is also simple, I got the template from a Japanese website, this is the type of shape the top should be.

You can shape the templates to fit your chosen figure. I have given measurements for the skirt, but it's best to just copy the shape and experiment with your sylvanian.
the skirt template is very versatile, it also fits perfectly for mother figures.

Turn over your fabric and trace your templates onto it. I recommend using a good ink flowing pen instead of a biro. cut out the shapes .
Once you have cut out the shapes, you can work on them separately.
Sew up the ends of your "top" to make two arm holes.
With your skirt, fold over 3 edges and pin them. Sew along it to make pleats.
Sew up the sides as seen here, to make the sides and bottom neat.
Now we are going to make the collar. Cut out a line of white felt and in the middle, cut out a triangle.
Now sew it on to the neckline.
Now choose what clasp you will use.
Once sewed, sew the whole piece together!
And their we have it!
One cute , summer dress!!!

DIY Cottage Apartments for your Sylvanians

Hi everyone! This is a good DIY to do when you need more room for your figures. Imagine them Without a home!! I needed to make two houses, but only Had enough plot for one . So , I thought to myself, what could I make? AHHH. Two houses that look like one! One on top of the other!

I had started this post, and was blogging it along the way but blogger deleted it. Oops. Luckily I didn't get too far.
*******IT IS VITAL THAT IT IS TAKEN IN ACCOUNT THAT I HAVE USED WALLPAPER FROM http://www.jennifersprintables.com/ AND TAKE NO CREDIT FOR ANY OF THEIR WORK> THESE ARE DISPLAYED WITH A *. ******
(YOU CAN VISIT http://www.jennifersprintables.com/ FOR FREE DOLLHOUSE PRINTABLES)

You will need:
FOR THE HOUSE
Two average size shoeboxes, a knife to cut, scissors to cut, hot glue gun, glue stick, wallpaper, some spare scrap cardboard, paint
FOR BEDDING AND FURNITURE
scrap cardboard, paint, fabric, sewing equip. Sticks, e.c.t

This is how far I got, I've cut out windows and doors on the bottom floor and wallpapered the inside.
As you can see, I've added windows, doors, shutters, over hangs, flower basket holders, flower box, thin chimney and a door handle.
The inside has three walls wallpapered* with red thin and fat stripes, and one wall being the feature with a floral pattern (please ignore my bad wallpaper skills)  and also a cute fireplace.

I glued the lid of the larger shoebox to the bottom of the smaller shoebox aswell, to make it easier

Now once you have done all that ^ (cutting doors and windows out, wallpapered the first floor, e.c.t ) you should have something like this to deal with.

The "first" thing to do now is to make this decision:
How many figures are you housing?
On the bottom floor,I'm housing five soon-to-be-revealed figures, two adults and three babies (guess in the comments below!!) . On the top floor, I'm housing the Fresian grandparents and their hedgehog baby.

Since I don't think a whole shoebox is appropriate for three figures, I've done this.
I've cut the top shoebox so there is three quarters left and then made a door On a new wall and given them balcony space.if you are housing another big family, you can leave it and skip these steps.
Now, cut out some cardboard to make a ladder and some safety rails for your balcony.

Start hot glue gunning your balcony rails , making sure you leave no gaps.

Now, add windows with flower boxes and shutters with overhangs, add as many as you please!
The next step is wallpapering the inside. For the wallpaper*, I used hot glue, but for the card, I used a regular glue stick.
Then you must roof it. Cut out some cardboard that overhangs the sides by 2 cm, and then fold it like I have, to give it shape. Then cut out some sides to match. You can add windows if you want! Don't glue on the roof , however. Add slots if needed to keep it on, but you want to be able to remove it to play with the inside.

Now, you've finished the cardboard mould. You have the option to paper mâché, but I thought it didn't really need it, as it already had shape. So I'm going to paint it.

I went with burgundy windows, doors, balcony and roof with gold detail and then cream walls. I thought this was quite wintery, and also a very cosy design. (To make it like a summer house, you could have blue  windowsills e.c.t and white coloured walls!!)
I painted the windows and all, and let it dry overnight before I painted the walls and added detail such as patterns. But I didn't let that time go to waste! I started designing and making furniture. Infact , I did a short DIY for Yankee candles which I uploaded in Sunday for you to check out !!!

I decided to stick with tutorials by other people.
I got my sofa tutorial from Kyra's blog: http://aeternumsomnium.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/tutorial-how-to-make-sofa.html
And ideas from others.
I made two cots, one to accommodate 3 babies and the other to accommodate 1.
how to make a cot out of a mini matchbox:

You will need: one mini  matchbox, lace, fabric, glue gun. Scissors.
1.  Take out the matches of your matchbox, and use the inside. Put some padding in the bottom of the matchbox.
2. Then , wrap some fabric around the box to make it look more aesthetically pleasing.
3. Choose some more fabric , and trace around the matchbox. It's important to do it with the white fabric on, so its the right shape and size. Cut it out for an oval shape.
4. Stick the fabric on to the sides of your matchbox.
5. Stick on your lace and other decorations, it's complete !
Now we are going to get creative. If you don't want to stick something to your house, get a stick of cardboard, wood or anything else, and stick it to the back of your crib. Then, ontop of said stick, stick another "stick" going out wards.
Gather some fabric and stick on lace, flowers e.c.t,
Glue gun the fabric to your "stick" or "rod"
That's my finished product!
Now let's get on to the finished outside of the house:
I made a ladder using two panels of sticks and 5 mini panels, and glued them all together!
I really love the front THE MOST!
I have little signs painted, the top says "keepers cottage" and is pointing to the ladder, to show it's upstairs. The bottom sign says " love cottage".
I haven't put in the flowers just yet, I'm still trying to figure that one out!

But now for the insides, which I have furnished with furnishings made by myself:
The fresian grandparents will be delighted to see their new cosy home, with cot and fold out bed! They have a closet for Daisy's old clothes, too.

The new mystery family of five will love their new room! With a jumbo cot made from a Lush pot and a fold out sofa bed, aswell as a tiled fireplace, this place is a dream!
They will also love their hand made corner unit, Yankee candles, pots and fruit bowls.
